Here’s

about! These late 19
th
or early 20
th
Century hand-carved and painted wooden decoys have exceptional appeal! These
crow or starling decoys feature dark greenish-blue and tarnished silver hand-painted
bodies mounted by metal legs on their original wooden bases. These brothers or
sisters are brimming with whimsey and are charming examples of bird folk art!
This
pair of hand-made decoys are likely American in origin, although they might be
from Europe. There are many instances of antique American crow decoys with
yellow beaks, even though the bird’s beak is black. These crows were likely
made by the same hand. They were purchased together from the estate of a
wealthy collector and hunter who lived in the suburbs east of Cleveland, OH. A
few other unrelated pieces will be posted later.
Condition:
Both birds are in
VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition! According to AAFA standards, these items have
not been modified by me in any manner. One bird has missing wood on the
underside of its tail which does not affect the presentation greatly. Both
birds have light wear to the tips of their beaks which could be original to
their construction.

Returns:
I
accept a no-questions-asked money back return policy granted the request
is made up to 30 days after the item arrives. I refund only the purchase
price of the item and, if free return shipping is offered on the listing,
the full return shipping. It is your responsibility to return the item to
me in the same condition it was sent to you. If the item is returned in
an inferior condition as to how it was sent, a full return might not be
granted. New items that come back in an inferior condition or are removed
from their original packaging will not be granted a full refund.
